Before you delete a notebook, close it on each OneNote app you have it open on. As with the deleted pages inside the notebook, you can permadelete deleted files and folders from OneDrive's recycle bin. On your Mac or Windows 10 PC, open a web browser of your choice and go to Microsoft OneDrive. When you delete a OneNote notebook in the OneDrive web UI, it gets put into OneDrive's recycle bin where it gets deleted in 30 days. The obvious answer is it depends on where you saved it, but that can also depend on which OS you’re using. To permanently remove the content from existence, you’ll need to locate and delete the source file of the notebook. The data within that notebook can still be accessed from the source file. Click on Delete in the context menu that appears. From there, right click on the folder that you want to delete. Open the OneNote Notebooks folder that OneNote creates by default for notebook storage. When you close a notebook, it doesn’t permanently remove the content within that notebook-it simply removes it from the list of available notebooks in the OneNote application. To delete a notebook saved locally on Windows 10, open File Explorer and navigate to your Documents folder. There’s an important difference to note between closing and deleting a notebook in OneNote.
